Smooth taxi ride from Budapest Airport to the hotel. Friendly helpful doorman and warm greetings at the front desk with a smart checkin. The hotel is brand new in a historic building which was built in the 18th century. The location is in the buisness center of the town, right on Ersezebet ter adjecent to the “fashion street” .
The design is in a very modern style, lots of beige colours with plenty of blue elements which are representing the Danube river. The suite I was given was yet unused and I was the first guest ever residing there. It was tastefully designed, with a small “kiosk” type minibar featuring a Nespresso maker, a minibar and a small souvenir shop. There was a separate guest toilet and the master bathroom was equipped with a bathtube as well as a shower. The shower itself was a bit on the smaller side, given the size of the suite. Plenty of towels and luxury amenities were also available. The bed was very comfy with plenty of pillows. (Pillow menu is available)
The bar on the main level has street access and is an attraction of its own. Nice comfortable lounge chairs where you can overlook the busy street outside or have a peaceful conversation or a drink at the bar.
Breakfast is served in the main lobby under a crystal dome. You can find your basics on a buffet while drinks and egg dishes and other specialities will be served to your table. The restaurant is a bistro style place, with modern furniture but hip staff which are dressed in all jeans uniforms. There is a large indoor seating as well as a cute small patio for outside dining overlooking the busy fashion street. I had a steak with a salad with a soup and it was all excellent.
After the soft opening of the hotel there will be also a SPA available as well a club level featuring a lounge and separate checkin/out desks customly-built for the modern exclusive traveller.
I can highly recommend the Ritz-Carlton in Budapest. A nice luxury hotel, away from the tourist crouds but still in a great location from where you can reach everything in minutes
