My arrival at the Grand Hotel Taschenbergpalais was more than pleasant. The friendly check-in staff helped me out quickly with a city map and some personal information about the hotel and Dresden as a city. She recommended which city tour to take and what to explore by walking and was happy to explain me about her city. Check-in was fast and she escorted me to the room.
The room was spacious with high ceilings and beautifully decorated in true elegant grand hotel style. There was a big entrance area with a oversized armoire, a lounge area and a stylish working desk.
The bed was comfortable and there were many windows in the rooms which could be opened and offered a beautiful view of the city.
Bathroom was modern, all amenities availble plus a towel hanger which featured pre-heated bath towels. A nice thing especially in the colder winter season.
The bar was also interesting. It was Karl May themed and decorated in old style. Friendly barman and nice choice of all kinds of drinks.
The breakfast was luxurious and the choice was huge. They also offered some a la carte items such as eggs benedict which were also included in the price. Big choice of hot and cold items and all the fruits were fresh as well. Staff seemed to be a bit busy and rushing at times but they did the best they could.
My stay at the Grand Hotel Taschenbergpalais was extremly pleasing and i felt comfortable and beeing well taken care of at all times. Staff extraordinary friendly and helpful.
For a stay in the beautiful city of Dresden I can only highly recommend to stay at this hotel.

Went to Dresden and stayed there (thanks for your post about Kempinski, we nearly went to Swissotel) It was nice, big rooms and great service. A bit of political demonstrations but that is not the hotels fault. Best wishes and keep up the good work. David O’Brian / Australia
