I am staying at the Shangri-La Yangon every year. Check-in and baggage handling is always hassle free and fast. The renovated rooms have a bit more of a “luxury” touch than the older ones. Location is very good.. the Sule Pagoda and the Scotts Market are a few steps away.
Breakfast is excellent, wide choice but the breakfast room tends to be very full and sometimes even requires waiting time, a situation which should not occur in a hotel like the Shangri-la.
The gallery bar is a great place for happy hour and/or a gathering with friends. There are 2 TV’s which are sometimes very loud and the venue is still a “smoking area” which can be rarely found nowadays.
There is a big construction going on besides the hotel. A second tower is being built including a few floors of office space and a shopping mall. Yangon is growing fast, so no doubt that the demand for new hotel rooms will be increasing further. A good place to stay in Yangon.

ADLON KEMPINSKI HOTEL BERLIN GERMANY
I checked-in at the Adlon Hotel in Berlin at about 11am and the lobby was busy with people.. some having drinks in the grand lobby while others checked out. The staff was extremly efficent and friendly. Everything was done quickly and very professionaly.
After I arrived at the junior suite a butler brought me fruits, chocolates and a bottle of champagne. That was a wonderful welcome treat.
The suite was luxurious, everything seemed to be brand new with lots of space and an Ipad on the desk which served as a directory guide and room service ordering online was also possible. I have tried it and it worked very well.
Bathroom was well equipped, with a separate toilet, shower and bathtub. 2 sinks with luxury amenities and a towel warmer was also available.
There were 3 windows which all could be opened and offered a wonderful view of the Brandenburger Tor.
The hotel features several restaurants and they are all very nicely decorated.
Each of the staffmembers that i have met were extremly friendly, seemed that they really enjoy their job and working there.
The Adlon Hotel in Berlin has a big history which can all be read on their website.
I found my stay extremely pleasant. The room, the staff and the restaurants are perfect and top quality and i can only give my highest recommendation and ratings.
GRAND HOTEL TASCHENBERGPALAIS KEMPINSKI, DRESDEN, GERMANY
StandardMy arrival at the Grand Hotel Taschenbergpalais was more than pleasant. The friendly check-in staff helped me out quickly with a city map and some personal information about the hotel and Dresden as a city. She recommended which city tour to take and what to explore by walking and was happy to explain me about her city. Check-in was fast and she escorted me to the room.
The room was spacious with high ceilings and beautifully decorated in true elegant grand hotel style. There was a big entrance area with a oversized armoire, a lounge area and a stylish working desk.
The bed was comfortable and there were many windows in the rooms which could be opened and offered a beautiful view of the city.
Bathroom was modern, all amenities availble plus a towel hanger which featured pre-heated bath towels. A nice thing especially in the colder winter season.
The bar was also interesting. It was Karl May themed and decorated in old style. Friendly barman and nice choice of all kinds of drinks.
The breakfast was luxurious and the choice was huge. They also offered some a la carte items such as eggs benedict which were also included in the price. Big choice of hot and cold items and all the fruits were fresh as well. Staff seemed to be a bit busy and rushing at times but they did the best they could.
My stay at the Grand Hotel Taschenbergpalais was extremly pleasing and i felt comfortable and beeing well taken care of at all times. Staff extraordinary friendly and helpful.
For a stay in the beautiful city of Dresden I can only highly recommend to stay at this hotel.

THE RITZ-CARLTON, ABU DHABI
StandardI stayed at Ritz-Carlton Grand Canal during Ramadan time. When i arrived in the evening the hotel was busy with people having iftar and the atmosphere was very lively but relaxed. The front desk staff quickly checked me in and escorted me to my room at the club level. The room was nice, big size, nice large bathroom with separate shower and bathtub. There was a balcony with view of the entire “Venice-like” hotel and the huge swimming pool which was illuminted in different colours at night. The room did not lack of anything. Very comfortable bed and luxury amenities.
The swimming pool is one of the largest that i have ever seen and i heard that it is the biggest one in the UAE. There are plenty of restaurants in the hotel but they were all closed during my stay due to the ramadan. Main restaurant was open and the meals that I had there were excellent. There is a small stretch of a clean white beach and plenty of staff to keep everything spotless and well maintained. One of the best assets was the Club Lounge. Open from early morning to late night, they offer drinks and food (fresh fruit only during day time during ramadan). As there was no food display during ramadan time, they offered me to order from room service or eat at the main restaurant at no cost. Excellent service from the multi lingual staff. I realised that most of the very young hotel staff started to work there after the hotel opened a year ago. They mostly finished hotel school studies not long ago and were always eager to help and provide the best service. There were always happy for a quick chat and made my stay there a very happy one. On my next trip to Abu Dhabi the Ritz-Carlton will definately be the hotel of my choice. Thanks to all the staff at the club lounge for an excellent 5-star service!

THE RITZ-CARLTON, KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
ImageThe Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur targets mainly on Business Travelers. Great location and easy to reach. The best part of the hotel is their staff. Everybody is very polite and will adress you with your name every time they meet you. The service from the door man to the personal butler as well as the charming pool staff is very personal and professional. The hotel has a certain age but it is well maintained. Pools are very small but the Spa area features a nice little rest area to relax, a corner to have a light meal, a lounge with a TV to relax, a gym, a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi.
A very good place to stay in KL!
ANDARA RESORT AND VILLAS, PHUKET, THAILAND
Standard

I have stayed at the Andara Resort and Villas a few times now and I remain enthusiastic about the facilities and the personalised service.
I stayed in a 3 bedroom terrace suite which is 241 sq.m. and includes well appointed bedrooms, an equally impressive living and dining area with stylish western kitchen opening to an outdoor terrace enjoying views of the Andaman Sea. Fabrics and silk custom designed from Jim Thompson are complimented by a Bose surround sound system, 55 inch LCD TV and complimentary wi-fi.
SIlk Restaurant & Bar restaurant is a Phuket favourite for hotel guests and visitors alike. With the recent addition of “La Seta”, an Italian eatery, the food variety is even wider and offers a great choice of Italian favourites including pizzas cooked fresh from an original pizza oven. The quality and taste of all meals that I had was excellent.
The pool is 40 meters long and cold towels as well as water and face spray are provided. Andara Resort resort also offers a separate section on nearby Kamala Beach which can reached by a free shuttle service on demand. Hotel staff are on hand at the beach and offer towels, beach-mats and cold water.
The staff at the resort are very attentive and always provide a distinguished service. Management is very visible and always ready to help and assist in any possible way.
I enjoyed my recent stay at the Andara Resort very much and would highly recommend it for the stylish traveller.

DUSIT THANI HUA HIN
StandardVery enjoyable stay at the Dusit Thani Hua Hin. The hotel is a couple of years old already but kept in a very good shape. Outstanding friendly staff and very high quality restaurants.
Stayed in a Dusit Suite which was very spacious 86 sqm with many top to bottom windows and a view to die for. Worth to pay extra for club room benefits.
Highly recommended for a stay in Hua Hin, only 2 hours drive from Bangkok. Weekends are packed, so better stay weekdays.
